Reviving The Paseo<\/h1>\n

In the article titled, \u201cThe promise of the Paseo: What Urban Catalyst is up to in Downtown San Jose,\u201d we take front and center as we walk the reporter through the project. We also go into all the other good things we\u2019re doing or have planned in downtown San Jose, reinforcing the integral role we\u2019re playing in the ongoing revival in downtown.<\/p>\n

\u201cUrban Catalyst stands out from other development firms working in San Jose in a significant way. It\u2019s one of only two local developers taking advantage of a federal measure passed in 2017 that created what are called Opportunity Zones.\u201d \u2013 Silicon Valley Business Journal – <\/p>\n

The article further noted:\u201cBesides producing a return on their investments, one of Hayden and Burroughs\u2019 primary goals is to help build a thriving community Downtown. To achieve that, they say, they need to draw more people to San Jose\u2019s center. <\/p>\n

What I also said is: \u201cthe only thing that\u2019s gonna bring the Downtown retail scene back is human beings in Downtown. That\u2019s what\u2019s going to generate the vibrancy of the ground floor retail and change the perception of what people see as Downtown San Jose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUrban Catalyst isn\u2019t like the national \u201cmegadevelopers\u201d\u2026 (Erik and Josh) are focused on fully financing their projects. Between money raised through the opportunity fund and debt, they expect to spend nearly $2 billion downtown.\u201d<\/p>\n
