Answer: Currently there are 20 nontraded REITs that have merged or are planning to merge since 2018 and before the end of 2020. After these mergers there will be eight surviving REIT programs managing those merged property portfolios. Along with the mergers, at least five of the eight surviving REITs will also have internalized their management.
