Blackstone REIT and AIG Complete US Affordable Housing Deal

Blackstone Inc. affiliate Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust Inc. closed its buyout of American International Group Inc.’s stakes in a U.S. affordable housing portfolio.

The insurer’s employees who worked full-time to support the affordable housing assets were given the option to join the portfolio company overseeing the properties.

The parties earlier said the cash transaction was valued at $5.1 billion.
