The Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza Hotel started the transformation of its guestrooms, public spaces, lobby and bar areas. The renovation will also see the addition of meeting and event space that will have a modern aesthetic with locally inspired elements.
Involved in the renovation project was MONOGRAM at BBGM.
The design concept is said to highlight fluidity, inspired by the lightness found in water. Artwork and furnishings will be inspired by local architecture, including the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain, local museums and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
Upon completion, the property will have new Marriott exterior signs and exterior illumination. Reinvented guestrooms and suites will have new furniture, carpet, flooring, drapery, paint, artwork, lighting and accessories. Many of the bathrooms will have a glass walk-in shower with rainfall showerhead and separate wand.
