What was the average total return among open nontraded BDCs that were in operations during the first six months of 2024, and how does it compare to the BDC benchmarks?

Answer: 

The average total return of Class I shares from the seventeen open nontraded BDCs that were in operations during the first half of 2024 was 5.69% with a median return of 5.51%. These outperformed both the Morningstar LSTA Leveraged Loan Index, which posted a 4.10% return, and the ICE BofA US High Yield Total Return Index, which posted a 2.62% return.
