Understanding Nontraded REIT Full-Cycle Performance (BV FC Study 6th Edition)

On Thursday, June 4th Blue Vault took a look inside its 6th Edition Nontraded REIT Full-Cycle Performance Study. This sixth-edition study includes 10 full-cycle events that were completed between Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 31, 2019. Full-cycle events in the NTR industry occur when a REIT completes a listing of its common stock on a public exchange, is acquired by or merges with another entity, or completely liquidates its real estate portfolio. The research team will review some of the highlights and benchmarks utilized in the report.
The webinar included:
- The average returns to shareholders in all NTRs that have completed full-cycle events, compared to custom benchmarks for matched holding periods
- Any difference in average returns based on the timing of investments during public offerings
- How shareholders fared if they redeemed shares via share redemption programs vs. those who held their shares until the full-cycle event
